Petunia Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Serum - Review

Today we're trying Petunia Skincare's hyaluronic acid serum

I've always touted the benefits of HA serums and I have tried many different brands. The first thing you'll notice is that Petunia Skincare tells exactly what hyaluronic acid is and exactly how it works right on the box. I love that because there isn't any guesswork or searching to find out what it is, what it does, or how it works.

The back of the box reads:
"Discover younger skin with out Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The secret is its sponge-like properties, which holds in moisture responsible for plumping skin and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles."

The side of the box reads:
"Hyaluronic acid works by helping the skin retain and pull in moisture from the liquids we drink to the products we put on our skin and works as a "water-reservoir" for skin cells by binding water within the inter-cellular structure of the skin."

This HA serum has your typical brown bottle with dropper. I really like the pretty blue and white label. I also really like that it has a sealed ring on the lid so you know when the seal has been broken. It's helpful if you have a lot of products and don't know if you've tried something yet. I haven't seen this feature on any other HA serum.

The other thing that makes this serum pretty unique are the ingredients. On top of the 1.6% hyaluronic acid, it also contains 1.1% MAP (Vitamin C), and 0.5% ferulic acid. In case you're unfamiliar with ferulic acid, its used to treat sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles.  Petunia Skincare's HA serum is also non-greasy, non-sticky, alcohol free, oil free, paraben free, and promises to not clog pores. It does have a slight scent that I'm not fond of, but it isn't unpleasant or overpowering.

I think this HA serum is the most effective I've ever used because it absorbs faster than any other I've tried. It goes on easy and smoothly and it completely absorbs within seconds. My skin feels fresher and softer after using it. I tend to use this HA serum during the day because it is quick and easy to reapply throughout the day if my skin is feeling dry.

Petunia Skincare's HA serum is part of their 3-step regime that also includes their Vitamin C serum and Revitalize eye serum. I haven't tried the Vitamin C serum, but I'll be reviewing the Revitalize Eye Serum soon!

YALMEH Glorifying Facial Cleansing Moisturizer & Rejuvenator - Review

I haven't heard much about Yalmeh Peerless Beauty before now, but at first try, the brand is blowing me away. The Yalmeh Glorifying Facial Cleansing Moisturizer & Rejuvinator is a really unique product that delivers results in a very unique way. This is a cleansing moisturizer, which means you can massage it onto your dry face and then rinse it off instead of using it on a wet face like typical cleansers.

This cleansing moisturizer has ingredients that are wonderful for your skin like olive oil, avocado oil, and jojoba oil. It has a light scent, but it doesn't linger on your skin after rinsing. It looks very much like a normal moisturizer and glides on very similarly. Once you rinse it off and dry your face, you really get to see how wonderful it is. It leaves your skin feeling like you've washed, toned, and moisturized all at once.

My skin felt soft, firm, and felt well moisturized. I was really impressed by how much time I saved since I didn't have to complete additional steps to moisturize and tone. I haven't tried this to remove make-up, so I can't say whether it would be effective or not. I've been using this morning and night in place of my normal face wash, toner, and moisturizer. Honestly, this is working just as good as the three products I usually use. My skin hasn't felt dry or oily/greasy from using it in place of my normal products. If you're looking for something that is great for your skin and saves you time, you've found it.

If it sounds like something you'd like to try out, you can find it on Amazon or you can check out Yalmeh Peerless Beauty at Yalmeh.com

Pure Body Naturals Peppermint Oil - Review

I love the smell of peppermint, especially during the holiday seasons.

Pure Body Naturals peppermint oil is absolutely wonderful. It has an eye-catching bottle that is attractive without being flashy. It comes with a convenient dropper lid that can replace the regular lid on the bottle so you can choose to drop or to pour.

What I love most about this peppermint oil (and all of Pure Body Natural's oils) is how pure it is. There aren't any added ingredients or filler oils. There a lot of useful suggestions on the bottle for how to use it, but I honestly don't use it for much other than the smell. It smells AMAZING! A few drops here and there makes the whole house smell wonderful and festive. You can also find a lot of recipes on the internet for soaps, scrubs, facials, hair masks, and massage oils. Really, there is no limit to how you can use peppermint oil.

Pure Body Naturals is quickly becoming my favorite brand for essential oils and beauty products. Their high-quality, customer-friendly packaging, and satisfaction guarantee makes their products very unique amongst other brands.

   And, just for fun......
Here's a fun DIY Candy Cane Sugar Scrub recipe that would make a great winter gift!
(credit to Isavea2z.com)

Homemade Peppermint Sugar Scrub Recipe
INGREDIENTS
2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Coconut Oil (or Almond oil if you prefer)
Red Food Coloring
Peppermint Essentials Oil
Optional:  Add a tablespoon of Vegetable Glycerine for extra moisturizer.  Glycerine is not easily found in stores so do yourself and favor and order it online.  It will save you time and gas.  Trust me.  It makes your skin amazingly soft.
DIRECTIONS
Pour sugar into medium sized bowl.
Mix in coconut oil (add more if you like a wet consistency).
Add a few drops of your Peppermint Essentials Oil.
Divide your sugar mixture into two equal sized portions.
Mix in a few drops of red food coloring to one portion (be careful not to add to much or you will have a bright red).
Add your sugars to the jar in layers. Press your Sugar down with a spoon or I use a can to compact.
Alternate between your pink and white layers
Add a Label to the front and maybe a ribbon to gift.

You can view the original recipe here for pics, labels, and ideas

Pure Body Naturals Organic Argan Oil - Review

I recently got the opportunity to try
Pure Body Naturals Organic Argan Oil.

I use argan oil for several things, but mostly I use it for my hair. I dye my hair a bright red, so I always mix a bit with my conditioner to keep my hair smooth, shiny, and frizz free. I posted a pic of my hair even though it turned out a little pink. In real life, its bright red. Think "Ariel" from the little mermaid rather than the magenta it looks like in the picture. I'll try to get a different pic up when I have the time and maybe even a tutorial on how I dye it and manage it if anyone is interested.

Spur of the moment messy hair photo!

But anyway, there are so many uses for argan oil that it is one of the best things you could ever keep on hand. It is absolutely amazing for your skin, hair, and nails. If you're a first time user and worried about being "oily", don't be! Argan oil is a "dry" oil, which means that it will not leave any oily residue on your skin! I could go on and on about the uses and benefits, but a simple internet search can tell you everything you'd ever want to know.

I particularly like this Pure Body Naturals argan oil because of how pure it is
and because of the realistic packaging

What sets this argan oil apart from the rest is how very pure it is. It doesn't have the garish brown-yellow of lower quality argan oils that I have tried, and it also isn't mixed with any other oils or fragrances. This is just pure, organic argan oil. I'm becoming very partial to this brand of argan oil specifically because of how much faster it absorbs than other brands and because of how convenient the packaging is.

It comes in a dark colored bottle (to protect the oil from light). The bottle is pretty simple and includes helpful usage tips. It also shows right on the bottle that it is certified organic (by EcoCert), cruelty free, not tested on animals, and that the oil is imported from Morocco. It seems like a small, insignificant thing, but I can't tell you how many times I've seen products claim they're organic or cruelty free and there isn't any sign on the product itself. Seeing it on the bottle gives me more faith in the product and shows me they're proud of those features.

Anyway. When I call the packaging realistic, I mean that they understand how people use this oil and have made the packaging convenient and real. The bottle ships with a seperate glass dropper. This is truly unique to me because every other argan oil I've ever purchased either has a dropper as the lid or has no dropper. Pure Body Naturals has made sure that their packaging doesn't limit your usage options. You can use it with the rubber-sealed lid that comes on it, or you can replace that with the dropper lid they've included with it. This is especially useful if you've bought this argan oil for a specific purpose like me. I would use a dropper for argan oil that I am going to use on my skin/nails, but I would prefer to pour it out of the bottle for my hair or use a pump. It seems like Pure Body Naturals knows and understands how people use their products and wants happy customers. The only thing I can think of that would improve this packaging is if they included the dropper and a pump.

This oil does have a slight scent. When I compare the scent to other pure argan oils I've tried, it almost smells sour in the bottle where it should smell similar to olive oil. This isn't a big thing to me because I'm not even sure if it is the oil itself or if it is the bottle because it doesn't really have that scent when you use it.

All in all, this is a great argan oil. It has customer friendly packaging, and all the features you should look for in an argan oil. I would recommend it to anyone, whether they're a seasoned user or a new one. Pure Body Naturals delivers on both quality and convenience. They also have a lifetime 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied in any way, so its worth a try!

Dr. Song 50% Lactic Acid Gel Peel Review

I've never really tried many peels, not because I was scared to, but because they're so expensive. I refuse to pay to get a peel professionally because its highway robbery, but at the same time I haven't found many products that are budget friendly that I TRUST. I've recently discovered Dr. Song products and I've fallen in love with them. It just made sense to me to try their gel peel because they make high quality products that I can depend on.

I scoured reviews before I tried it. I wanted to see what everyone else had to say and what their results were. I didn't want to make any mistakes! Dr. Song sends the peel instrutions to your email when you order, but I wanted to see how other people reviewed this product and what their experiences were. I found mixed reviews that both impressed and terrified me.

This lactic acid peel comes in a frosted glass bottle with a dropper built into the lid for dispensing. It has the classic shiny silver Dr. Song label. It looks very classy and high quality. The gel is clear and odorless, so there isn't any perfumes or dyes to irritate your skin or senses.

The first time I tried it, I applied it with a cotton ball and left it on for one minute, and then rinsed with water. I had very little stinging or burning, and my skin never peeled at all. The second time, I used a cosmetic pad and left it on for one minute again. I must have done it correctly the second time because it stung pretty bad and my skin started peeling about 4 days later. I also noticed a few changes after my second peel. My skin felt softer and smoother, and even looked a little brighter.

My third time I used a cosmetic pad to apply it, and I left it on for 3 minutes. I could barely stand the burning and stinging so when the 3 minutes were up, I quickly rinsed it off with water. I was really worried that I'd have serious redness or burns but I didn't. My skin peeled a few days later and my complexion looked more even with some slight fading of old acne scars. I've been waiting at least a week between each peel because I want my skin to get used to it. I might eventually switch to 2 or 3 minutes twice a week and see what that does for me.

Overall, I have had some slight redness and some peeling after using it but nothing extreme. I've had the benefits of smoother, brighter skin, a more even skin tone, and some fading of old acne scars. As long as you follow the directions and use common sense, this is a wonderful peel. I would recommend it to anyone that doesn't have super sensitive skin. If you DO have really sensitive skin, you might want to try a peel with a lower percentage of lactic acid (20% lactic acid or lower) until you know how your skin will react.

If you want to give it a try, you can find it on Amazon.

Body Merry Retinol Surge Moisturizer Review

I love Body Merry and this retinol moisturizer is great like all their other products. I haven't used it long enough to get any results from the retinol, but it has been a great night cream for me. I have seen a reduction in fine lines, plumper skin, and I am positive that I will keep seeing results the longer I use it.

The packaging is a simple pump-top bottle that comes with a stopper to prevent leakage during shipping. The label is a really pretty purplish-red color and I love it. It may be my new favorite color. I even love the name "Retinol Surge Moisturizer". It just sounds cool, don't you think?

This moisturizer has 2.5% retinol, but it also has several soothing and hydrating ingredients like aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, green tea, and shea butter. The extra ingredients help a lot of offset any dryness or irritation that you could normally have from using retinol, as well as giving your skin a little boost themselves.

This is also thicker than most moisturizers. It leans more toward being a cream than being a lotion. I have been using it as more of a night cream than a day-time moisturizer because of its thickness and because retinol works better at night (fun fact: retinol is a form of vitamin A which degrades in light). If you like thick moisturizers it would work just as well during the day time, but I would recommend introducing it to your skin care regime at night first, just to see how your skin reacts to the retinol.

Although it has a thick texture and can take a few minutes to absorb, it doesn't leave your skin feeling oily, sticky, or greasy. It moisturizes wonderfully and gives your skin a plump look and a silky feeling. It also has a really light, pleasant scent that doesn't linger long after you apply it so you won't be smelling it all day.

Bottom line: This is a great moisturizer for day or night. The extra ingredients that Body Merry has included make this a powerhouse moisturizer with or without the retinol. Even though you're not likely to see results from the retinol in under 12 weeks, you'll see results from the hyaluronic acid and shea butter quickly. If you don't like the product and you don't see any results, Body Merry offers a 90-day satisfaction guarantee, so you can get a full refund.

If you want to give it a try, You can find it on Amazon.

Body Merry Stretch Mark & Scar Defense Cream Review

Today I'm reviewing Body Merry's
Stretch Mark and Scars Defense Cream.

This stretch mark and scar cream comes in box with a small tub-like container with a twist off top. The great part about the packaging is that it has a foil seal under the lid so when you first open it, you don't end up with a glop of cream on the lid.

This has a TON of great ingredients to help keep your skin soft, smooth, supple, and moisturized. The ingredient list (copied from the description) includes Organic Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Vitamins E + C + B3 + B5, Sunflower Seed Oil, Plant Stem Cells, Organic Hemp Seed Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Raspberry Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Organic Gotu Kala, Algae Extract and Japanese Green Tea Leaf Extract. All of these ingredients are super good for your skin by themselves. Together they're basically like a skin multi-vitamin!

The cream itself high quality like all Body Merry products. It is very thick and rich. It spreads onto your skin easily and absorbs quickly. You'll immediately notice how soft and silky your skin feels. It really improves your skin texture and leaves it more supple, so it will prevent new stretch marks. I haven't noticed any real improvement or change in my stretch marks or scars, but that doesn't actually bother me. This product is well worth its price as a moisturizing cream. I've used farm more expensive creams that have given me far less. This cream will even soften coarse skin on your elbows, knees, and feet.

I'm not very fond of the smell. It kind of smells like lotion mixed with menthol, with a little bit of medicine cabinet smell thrown in for good measure. On the upside, the smell doesn't linger on your skin, so you're not going to walk around smelling like a medical facility.

All in all, this is a great moisturizing cream that will effectively help to prevent new stretch marks. It could possibly fade existing stretch marks and scars, but that hasn't been my experience so far. I'll keep trying it and see what my results are long-term. If you want some seriously moisturized skin that has the best texture you've ever seen, this will not let you down.

If you want to try it out, you can find it on Amazon.

InstaNatural Moroccan Rose Water Review

InstaNatural Moroccan Rose Water is my guilty indulgence.

I adore the scent and I love to use it in my bath. I've tried it as a wash/toner, I've used a dab on my wrists for scent, I've even sprayed it on my pillow cases before bed. Rose water is great and InstaNatural has some of the best I've ever used. The scent lasts longer than other brands I've tried and it even seems to be a bit stronger.

I like the label on the bottle. The red-orange label really catches the eye. I think a plainer label on the brown bottle would be overlooked. The bottle itself could be a little more user friendly. The only way to get the rose water out is to use a cotton ball or pour it out. I would have liked to see a spray or push pump to make it easier to get out, but it is what it is, and it isn't really that hard to use.

Rose water has so many uses other than just the scent. It is a toner, a cleanser, a moisturizer, it softens skin, removes make-up, and it is really soothing for skin (even sunburned skin!). Its been used for centuries and is even used in cooking recipes.

If you've never used rose water, I would definitely recommend picking up a bottle and trying it out. It is a luxurious experience no matter how you choose to use it. I guarentee you'll love it, and if you don't, InstaNatural backs their products with a Lifetime Money Back Guarantee, no matter where you buy their product. If you're not satisfied, simply contact them and get a full refund.

InstaNatural Argan Oil Review

I'd like to start off by saying that this is PURE, high quality Argan oil. I'm sometimes doubtful of the purity of Argan oils because it is too easy to buy "pure" and have it turn out to be a blend. It is also certified organic by Ecocert.

I like the pump bottle that InstaNatural packages their argan oil in. Its really easy to use and you don't get too much or too little with one pump. The bottle is decent sized, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It will last a while and won't be expensive to replace when you run out. This argan oil doesn't have any added scents or other oils, so it looks and smells exactly as it should. No surprises. I'd definitely recommend this product.

Argan oil has so many great uses, it is pretty much an all-purpose oil. I have really damaged hair because I dye my hair neon red, so I use this to help with the damage, split ends, and frizz. I've also used argan oil on my nails and skin. There's a reason why argan oil is referred to as "liquid gold". It has so many different uses! You can use it for acne, as a toner, as an aftershave, as a conditioner, shiny hair, glowing skin, cuticle softener/nail strengthener, bath oil, body oil, and so many more things!

If you're looking for pure organic Argan oil, I recommend you give this a shot. As a bonus, InstaNatural backs their products with a Lifetime Money Back Guarantee, no matter where you buy their product. If you're not satisfied, simply contact them and get a full refund.

InstaNatural Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review

Let me start by saying that I love Hyaluronic Acid (H.A.) It is one of the most amazing things produced by your body. If you were a car, it would be the oil in your engine. Its everywhere in your body. They even use H.A. in lip injections.

I think InstaNatural's H.A. serum is one of the best I've ever tried. It has a light, pleasant smell and is really easy to use. You only need about a pea sized amount for your whole face, so it lasts quite a while. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy. I love the blue bottle it comes in, and the dropper is convenient because it makes it very easy to dispense the amount you need perfectly. I really like all the aditional ingredients that are added to help your skin. It has vitamin C, green tea, jojoba oil, aloe, witch hazel, and vitamin E.

I haven't really noticed any anti-aging benefits from it, but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't show results for someone else. Its worth a shot for the moisturizing benefits alone, anti-aging would just be an added bonus as far as I'm concerned.

Where I live, it gets really cold in the winter and I don't leave the house much. It makes my skin feel dryer to be stuck indoors all the time, so this H.A. serum is great for me either by itself or as an added boost with your moisturizer. It really helps my skin to retain moisture so if your skin is dry and dehydrated, this would work miracles for you.

Not only could it work great for you, but InstaNatural backs their products with a Lifetime Satisfaction Money Back Guarantee, no matter where you buy their product. If you're not satisfied, simply contact them and get a full refund.

You can find InstaNatural's Hyaluronic Acid Serum at Amazon.

InstaNatural Stretch Mark & Scar Cream Review

I've never really been a big believe in stretch mark creams or scar creams.
I recently tried this "stretch mark and scar cream" and I'm starting to change my opinion.
I didn't notice any immediate results on my stretch marks or scars, but I did immediately notice how great it made my skin feel. This is probably better than just about any lotion I've ever used. My skin felt so silky after using it.

It's very lightly scented and the scent lingers for a while. It's also light enough that it won't interfere with any fragrance you choose to use. The pump is also really easy to use. It isn't messy at all, and doesn't distribute too much lotion when you pump it.

I love that it has so many great ingredients that are good for your skin. The ingredient list is pretty much amazing. I'm not going to list everything here, but the ingredients that are my favorite are vitamin C, rosehip oil, aloe vera, mango butter, and cocoa butter. There are so many other great ingredients in it as well.

After about 2 weeks of using this, I noticed it helped to fade some of my smaller stretch marks to the point where they were barely noticeable. I don't know how well it will work for larger stretch marks or scars, but it does help with small, fine stretch marks and scars for me. I'm going to keep using it and see what happens.

If you're looking for a stretch mark/scar cream, you might want to give this a shot.
InstaNatural backs their products with a Lifetime Money Back Guarantee, no matter where you buy their product. If you're not satisfied, simply contact them and get a full refund.
